Gingerbread house comes to life in Naples

Published: Updated:

NAPLES, Fla. – Once again, the lobby at The Ritz-Carlton Naples has been transformed into a holiday paradise, including a life size gingerbread home, fit for a gingerbread king.

Pastry chefs spent six months baking the shingles and bricks that make up the roof and side of the home, including more than 70,000 candies and 600 pounds of frosting that decorate the house. The majority of the home is assembled and put together in about one day, by a team of carpenters and pastry chefs, lead by Executive Pastry Chef Sebastien Thieffine.

The house will be on display throughout the moth of December, through the holidays for visitors and hotel guests to see. Complete with snow, a fire place, Santa’s chair and even a mailbox so letters can be sent to the North Pole. The house is truly a holiday gem where visitors can participate in several holiday activities at The Ritz-Carlton, including Teddy Bear Tea.
