MGN ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Walt Disney World Resort has given a $500,000 grant to help house homeless families in Central Florida. The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/21McpaN ) reports Disney President George Kalogridis announced the grant at a special Sunday night performance of the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, an event attended by community and nonprofit leaders. The money, one of the company’s largest ever for homelessness, will go to the Homeless Impact Fund established by the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness. The funds will specifically be targeted to help homeless families in Orange and Osceola counties. The Homeless Impact Fund, part of the charitable Central Florida Foundation, began a year ago with a $6 million pledge by Florida Hospital. It now has more than $7.3 million to move homeless people into housing and help keep them housed.
