
FORT MYERS, Fla — One person is in the hospital following a serious crash in east Fort Myers.
It occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Palm Beach Boulevard and Buckingham Road.
The roadway was temporarily blocked to allow Lee Flight to land.
Witnesses says a young female driver was heading west on Palm Beach, when they believe she overcorrected and hit a pole.
According to witnesses, her car then flipped over, trapping her inside.
Witnesses says she was awake and talking.
Jessica Steele, a witness, said “she was conscious she was awake she was, she was in pain. She was in a lot of pain but she was conscious…so we know that so far, she was medflighted out of here.”
The driver’s injuries are unknown.
