Hertz celebrates Estero HQ opening with visit from Gov. Scott

ESTERO, Fla.- Rental car giant Hertz is looking to hire dozens of people to fill its brand new, $150 million global headquarters that just opened in Estero.

From a gym, to the courtyard and cafeteria, the new Hertz Global headquarters campus sitting on nearly 20 acres has a lot to offer.

Equipped with solar panels and other energy efficient highlights, the headquarters which moved to Southwest Florida from New Jersey, has already employed hundreds of people, and still has 75 positions open.

“I am especially proud to stand here in front of our 600-plus employees and to celebrate the successful completion of this project,” Tom Sabatino, Hertz senior executive vice president, said on Friday.

Florida added 21,000 jobs last month alone, and the new Hertz headquarters contributed to that number.

“It’s an exciting time. I remember three years ago when we had the opportunity to make the announcement that Hertz was going to move its corporate headquarters here and when we were back here, we did the ribbon cutting for the opening here,” said Florida Gov. Rick Scott on his visit to Estero Friday. “So I wanted to thank John and everybody at Hertz, most importantly for all the jobs.”

The company is also employing local college graduates, including Naples native and Florida Gulf Coast University graduate Nick Cid.

“It’s cool, company is here, its headquarter’s here, so the harder I work at work and the more revenue I produce for the company, it’s almost like I’m providing for my hometown,” said Cid.
