LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Two men burst into a Lehigh Acres home early Thursday morning during a home invasion and began spraying bullets at a mother and her three children, authorities said.

Around 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, the victim’s husband left for work at his usual time. Minutes after he left, someone knocked on the door of the 25th Street SW home and, assuming it was his father, a 14-year-old boy answered the door.

Two tall, masked man pointing a silver semi-automatic pistol then entered the home, officials said.

The 14-year-old began screaming and woke up his mother and 9-year-old sister. When the mother came out to see what was happening, the men opened fire inside the home, aiming the bullets at the bedroom where the 9-year-old was sleeping, officials said.

The men left in a black SUV, which witnesses saw parked on 24th Street SW shortly before the shooting, authorities said. The truck was last seen headed eastbound with no lights on.

No one was injured during the home invasion robbery, officials said.
