Cape Coral seeks input for extra bike routes

Published: Updated:

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – The city designated bicycle-friendly in 2015 could soon be adding more bike routes to the more than 90 miles of routes that currently exist.

Cape Coral has partnered with the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization in efforts to create a master plan that will make the streets safer for cyclists and pedestrians. And they are asking for input from citizens.

The city has set up a new interactive map that allows users to share their concerns and make suggestions about project priorities. It hopes to finish the plan by fall 2016. Cape Coral will also host a public meeting for feedback in April.

Lee County was named one nation’s most dangerous places for cyclists and pedestrians in 2014, according to reports.
