Tuesday’s shooting is the third since Sunday, when two vehicles were hit with bullets near Daniels Parkway and State Road 82, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Late Monday evening, a woman was injured by shattered glass when her car was also hit with bullets near Meadow Road and South Todd Avenue, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Braxton’s family members said that his wife and sister were in that car.

Deputies have not confirmed whether the three shootings are related. But residents have said they fear for their safety.

“Everybody tells me it’s dangerous here,” said a neighbor, Leyla Canales. “I don’t feel safe. I don’t feel safe living here.”

Laquiesha Gibbs lives on Meadow Road next to a home that is riddled with bullet holes.

“I want to move. I’m going to move. I’m going to take my last and I’m getting out of here,” Gibbs said. “It’s too close.”

Deputies are looking for a black four-door sedan but have not said whether any arrests have been made.

Meadow Road is a street that runs parallel to State Road 82 in Lehigh Acres.
