1 dead, 1 injured in North Port motorcycle crash

NORTH PORT, Fla.- A 20-year-old was killed Monday in a multi-motorcycle crash along the 2700 block of Panacea Boulevard, the North Port Police Department said.

Xavier Alonso was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A second motorcycle driver, 23-year-old Hector Sanchez, was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

North Port police are looking for information from anyone who may have witnessed the crash. The motorcyclists were riding in a group traveling in the north Haberland/Panacea area between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m, police said.
