
SANIBEL, Fla.- E8’s condition was upgraded to guarded on Friday, days after the eaglet’s surgery to repair a fractured femur.
E8 continues to recover and its body weight has increased but the eaglet’s protein levels are still dangerously low, the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) said.
On Friday, E8 was able to stand and walk normally but the eaglet still spends a majority of time down and sleeping, CROW added.
