FORT MYERS, Fla. – The owner of a truck involved in a hit-and-run that killed an 18-year-old says he was not driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Adam King’s photo is pinned to a pole where he was killed on Colonial Boulevard near the Midpoint Bridge. On Sunday at about 11 p.m., the teenager was hit by a pickup trick, according to police. The driver never stopped.

Adam Costello, the owner of the pickup truck, immediately turned his car over to law enforcement when he discovered it was involved in the incident, his lawyer said in a statement.

“My client was not driving or in the veehicle at the time of the incident,” Attorney Scott Moorey said.
