FORT MYERS, Fla. — A few spotty storms will develop around lunchtime and become scattered as the afternoon wears on Thursday across Southwest Florida.

The morning starts mostly dry and mostly sunny, with warm and humid air. It’ll become partly cloudy by late morning.

A hot and humid afternoon is on tap as rain chances increase. Heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds are possible in the storms.

Rain chances are lower after sunset, when storms will weaken. Highs will be near 93, with heat indices peaking between 100 and 105. Lows tonight will dip near 76.
