Continued heat, humidity, scattered p.m. storms expected

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The summer pattern maintains its grip on Southwest Florida, with increasing clouds and scattered storms expected this afternoon.

The morning will be partly cloudy and mostly dry, with a few spotty storms possible as the clock ticks toward noon.

It’ll be hot and humid this afternoon, with highs near 92. Heat indices will climb near 100.

Heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds are possible in the storms. Rain chances will lessen after sunset. Lows tonight will dip to near 75.
