FORT MYERS, Fla. — Anyone who’s ever driven over the Edison Bridge in the rain and wondered if it would make a fun water slide will have a chance to test the theory on Saturday, Sept. 17.
That’s when a promotional company known as Slide the City will take over the bridge spanning the Caloosahatchee River and roll out a 900-foot padded water slide. The group is laying down similar slides in Jacksonville and cities across the country in the coming months.
The event will run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. rain or shine. Food trucks will be there, and parking will be available in downtown garages, organizers said.
Tickets range in price from $25 to $55. Children must be at least 5 years old and 46 inches or taller to take part.
