FORT MYERS, Fla. — Back-to-school shoppers across Florida get a tax break this weekend, but it’s not what it used to be.
State officials decided earlier this year to scale back what had been a 10-day tax holiday to just three days. They also lowered the tax threshold for clothing items, and computers are no longer covered.
Still, the opportunity for savings exists between 12:01 a.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. For more information on what is and isn’t tax-free this weekend, click here.
