Man with gun arrested while trying to enter Disney World

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say an Arkansas man tried to enter a Walt Disney World park with a gun, then lied about being a police officer.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Kevin Webb was charged with falsely impersonating an officer and carrying a concealed firearm.

An arrest affidavit says Webb was selected to go through a metal detector Monday when he tried to enter the Magic Kingdom park. When he was stopped for his gun, Webb told a guard he was an off-duty officer and displayed police identification.

When an Orange County deputy called the Arkansas police agency where Webb claimed he worked, the deputy was told that Webb was terminated in 2013.

Webb didn’t answer a phone number listed for him.

Court records showed no attorney for Webb.
