Peak shipping season in full swing for SWFL

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Southwest Florida postal customers can expect long lines as carriers work to get online purchases, cards, letters, and packages shipped this holiday season.

Carriers recommend filling out addresses beforehand and using self-service kiosks for shorter lines.

The U.S. Postal Service, FedEx and the UPS have deadlines to keep in mind when shipping packages.

For USPS First-Class Mail Service, the deadline is Tuesday. Wednesday is the final day for Priority Mail Service and Friday is the last day for Priority Mail Express Service, according to the USPS website.

FedEx customers have until Wednesday for two-day shipping and Thursday for overnight delivery, the company’s website says.

For UPS, the deadline for three-day select shipping is Monday, and Friday is the last day for next-day air service, according to the UPS website.
