Suspect sought in Lehigh Acres 7-Eleven robbery

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. A suspect is at large after an armed robbery early Wednesday morning at a 7-Eleven, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said.

The robbery took place just after 2:30 a.m. when the suspect entered the convenience store on 501 Sunshine Blvd. N.,according to a press release. The suspect pulled a gun from his waistband and demanded money from the cashier.

The cashier opened the register and handed over $120, Crime Stoppers officials said. The suspect then left the store, and fled westbound on Lee Boulevard, according to a press release.

Some nearby residents were surprised to hear of the incident happening in their usually quiet neighborhood.

“I always leave my garage doors open when I’m home but now I’ll be more careful,” resident Neleda Vera said.

Anyone with information can call 1-800-780-TIPS to leave an anonymous tip, and are eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000. Tipsters can also be made online or on the P3Tips mobile app.
