ARCADIA, Fla. A DeSoto County High School teacher was suspended amid allegations he sent an inappropriate message to a female student on an app, superindendent Adrian Cline said.

Chorus teacher Joshua Walkuski was escorted off school grounds Tuesday by a DeSoto County Sheriff’s deputy. He’s accused of sending the message via the Kik app.

“The school is a safe place and we want to keep it a safe place for our students,” Cline said.

The school district is investigating the allegation, according to Cline. A state-level investigation is also underway.

No further information was immediately available.
