Rape kit key to cracking Fort Myers Beach rape cold case

FORT MYERS, Fla. A rape kit that sat on the shelves for 18 years was key to an arrest in a cold case from 1998, but many victims are hesitant to get one out of fear that nothing would come of it.

Now a 2016 Florida law that came on the heels of a 2015 WINK News investigation requires rape kits be tested within four months.
