FILE: Naples Police Marine Unit. Credit: naplesgov.vom NAPLES, Fla. A commercial barge with two people on board sank in the Gulf of Mexico about 300 feet off the Naples coast, south of Clam Pass. The incident happened west of Gulf Shore Boulevard North around 1:30 pm. The two people on board the barge swam safely to shore and are reported to be OK. Naples Fire and Rescue as well as Naples Police marine vessels responded. The construction barge is owned by a commercial dock business.
