
A man was arrested on Sunday after fleeing from law enforcement when he was being pulled over for going 93 mph on I-75, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida Highway Patrol says, they were attempting to pull over Mark Medina, 19, for speeding down the interstate.
Medina fled from FHP and exited I-75 on to Corkscrew Road. When Medina attempted to make a right turn on to Corkscrew, he was going too fast and lost control of the car causing him to go across the median into on coming traffic, hitting an F-150 pickup truck head on.
After the crash, Medina fled on foot. After a short chase they were able to arrest Medina.
Medina was booked into the Lee County Jail on charges of Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Narcotic (Oxycodone), Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Distribute, Convicted Felon Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Firearm Offense during Commission of Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License.
