Two kids arrested for attempted break-in in Cape Coral

At least six kids were witnessed attempting to break into a neighbor’s house in Lee County. Two of the young suspects were arrested by police for their actions. Police were able to identify one of the suspects, who left homework with their name written on it in a backpack left at the scene.

On Thursday, Cape Coral Police Department arrested two juvenile suspects for an attempted home invasion.

According to the CCPD arrest report, police responded to a home on the 3100 block of SW 14th Court when it was reported kids were seen trying to break into the home at the front of the house and through the back lanai porch.

A witness chased the young suspects from the property onto a vacant lot and was present for the apprehension of one of the suspects.

Two suspects were eventually located. One found on the 1300 block of SW 30th St. And the other was located near the intersection of 15th SW Avenue and SW 31st Terrace.

According to the report, he suspects who were found did not provide police with any reasonable explanation for why they were on the property. None of them live in the residential area.

The suspects arrested face charges for Loitering or Prowling. They were booked at CCPD and transferred to a juvenile assessment center.
