A Naples woman, 84, was seriously injured in a vehicle crash with an SUV in Collier County Thursday evening.

The woman’s car was traveling south on Logan Boulevard around 6 p.m. The SUV, driven by a Fort Myers man, 38, and carrying five passengers, was traveling north on Logan Boulevard. The Naples woman lost control of her car, crossed the grassy median and traveled into the path of the SUV.

The front of her car collided with the front of the SUV before coming to rest on the northbound lane. The elderly woman was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition. The oldest passenger in the SUV, a 32-year-old woman from Fort Myers, suffered minor injuries. The rest of the vehicle’s occupants—including the other four passengers, who were children between the ages of 5 and 6—were uninjured.
