If you’re a retired nurse, you could potentially help give out the COVID-19 vaccine in Southwest Florida.

Florida Department of Health in Collier County says it’s making a volunteer list. DOH-Collier wants retired nurses to send them an email at info.dohcollier@flhealth.gov.

Florida Department of Health in Lee County is asking people to register with the Florida Medical Reserve Corps to volunteer.

A retired nurse in Naples told us she feels like she should be doing something to help.

“There’s tons of retired nurses. I mean can think of 20 or 30 retired nurses I know who would be happy to take this task on,” retired nurse Diane Caldwell said.

Gov. Ron DeSantis says the state is working to get 1,000 nurses to help vaccinate people.
