James Maurer, Sean Brady, Isario Escobar Soliz This weekly WINK News segment features fugitives from justice right here in Southwest Florida. This is your chance to help out the community and give the tip that gets these people off the street. These suspects need to be found – and you can help. If you have seen them, reach out to Crime Stoppers or your local law enforcement. Call 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Here are three fugitives wanted by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. James Maurer James Maurer (DOB 2/21/56) – wanted in Lee County for violation of probation for DUI (fourth or more) and driving while license suspended (three or more). LCSO was called by neighbors in response to a male riding down the street erratically on a lawnmower. When deputies arrived, they found Maurer under the influence on the mower, with a near-empty thermos of rum. When they asked Maurer if he was under the influence, he said that he wasn’t “drunk drunk” – but in the end, he blew twice the legal limit and found himself in jail that day for his fourth DUI. For his repeated drunk driving crimes, Maurer was adjudicated to be on state probation for one more month, but with this latest violation, Crime Stoppers says, “He’ll be sure to have his probation sentence extended.” Maurer is 6’2”, 140 pounds, and was last known to be living in Lehigh. Upon his arrest, he will be held without bond. Sean Brady Sean Brady (DOB 12/15/64) – wanted in Lee County for grand theft auto (an original charge). A brand new warrant for his arrest was issued in early January following an incident where he stands accused of stealing a woman’s car. The victim said she made a quick trip to a local store to buy baby formula and was only gone for a matter of a few short minutes. When she returned to the parking lot, her car was gone. Unfortunately, she left her key fob in the car, which afforded Brady an easy chance to steal it. She also left her iPhone in the car, so detectives were able to find the stolen car through the “Find My iPhone” app a short time later. But Brady had already fled by the time officers arrived. Brady has a history of stealing cars, often preying on unlocked cars with the keys still inside, taking the cars out for joyrides, and then abandoning them a short time later, minus, of course, the credit cards, wallets, and other personal belongings left in the car. Brady’s criminal ways have led him to be sentenced to state incarceration twice, for burglary and grand theft auto, for a sentence of about four years total. He is 5’6”, 160 pounds, and was last known to be living in Lehigh. Isario Escobar Soliz Isario Escobar Soliz (DOB 5/25/85) – wanted in Collier County for two counts of battery. He’s got a lengthy record between Lee and Collier counties, with nine priors for false imprisonment, robbery, aggravated assault, high speed fleeing and eluding officers, battery, violation of a domestic violence injunction for protection, grand theft auto, theft, public order crimes, DUI and 14 counts of burglary. He’s also served one stint in prison for the false imprisonment charge. Although he’s wanted in Collier County, detectives believe he could be living in Fort Myers, Immokalee or Labelle, possibly working under the table as a pool plasterer. He is 5’10”, 175 pounds with numerous tattoos, including a smoking clown on his back, Chinese letters on his left arm and the names Mercedes and Monica on his neck. If you have a tip on the whereabouts of any of these wanted suspects contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000. Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) or southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com
