Collier County Sheriff’s Office wants the public’s help to identify an unknown male suspect in connection to a recent suspicious encounter with a girl in Golden Gate.

According to the CCSO Facebook post, a girl told deputies a black male in his twenties approached her along the 4900 block of Golden Gate Parkway Tuesday afternoon and asked for her name and phone number as well as details about her after-school activities.

She said the man told her she could work for him to earn some money, and they could hang out together.

The conversation made the girl uncomfortable, and she reported it to a youth relations bureau deputy Wednesday.

The male was reportedly seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and an orange traffic vest. He was also wearing a black do-rag on his head.

The sheriff’s office confirmed there will be increased patrols in the area in response to the reported encounter.

Anyone with information can contact Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300, or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward, call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS(8477).
