The Naples Senior Center gave out COVID-19 vaccines for the last time on Friday.
They’ve now run out of people to vaccinate. The Naples Senior Center has vaccinated 7,500 seniors, including at least 600 veterans and 21 Holocaust survivors in Southwest Florida.
Those receiving the vaccines have expressed how grateful they are to get help from the center with securing a vaccine.
Ron Hysell lives in Naples and was lucky enough to receive one of these vaccines. “Frees our time up considerably; we can go visit relatives and friends now and live happier lives,” Hysell said.
The staff absolutely agrees that this is extremely important during. Jaclynn Faffer is the president of the Naples Senior Center. “I think this is one of the most important things the Naples senior center has ever done,” said Faffer.
The Naples Senior Center alone has vaccinated 19% of the seniors aged 80 and over in that community, not including those in nursing homes.
