As your kids head back to school Tuesday, do you know how they are getting there?
School bus pick-up and drop-off can be tricky, but there are tools to help.

The School District of Lee County has several mobile apps designed to help families navigate through the school year, including the “Where’s the Bus” app, with which you can track your school bus and see how close it is to your stop. The School District of Collier County also has its own app for the upcoming school year.

Families WINK News spoke with are feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as Tuesday approaches.

“There’s always going to be fears and the unknown, you know what I mean?” said one parent who did not wish to be named. “And you never can tell what happens, but I’m excited for them. I was always told when my kids were young, that you kind of got to let them fall on their own and learn on their own, and it’s all about making friendships.”

And you parents will want to pack your patience Tuesday; the school districts are already warning you to expect delays. Lee County is still short of at least 100 bus drivers.
Now, at least, you can sign up for an app to help you know where your child’s bus is, or if it’s delayed.

You will need your child’s school ID number in order to set up an account.
