Lee Health has 215 COVID-19 patients Monday, 110 COVID-19 deaths this year

On Monday morning, Lee Health reported having 215 COVID-19 patients isolated in its hospitals. The hospital is reminding the community of the importance of vaccines in battling the virus.

Lee Health says about 64% of vaccine-eligible people are fully vaccinated, but only 24.7% are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations.

Since the start of the year, Lee Health says 110 people have died due to COVID-19 in its hospitals. Lee Health has averaged more than 200 currently-admitted COVID patients per day.

  • As of Monday morning, Lee Health has 215 COVID-19 patients isolated in its hospitals.
  • Of these patients, four of them are being treated at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.
  • Monday morning, the hospital census was at 99% of staffed operational bed capacity.
  • Monday morning, census in the intensive care unit was at 95% of staffed operational bed capacity.
  • There were 32 COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
  • On Sunday, Lee Health emergency departments saw 733 patients, which is slightly above average for a Sunday this time of year.
