A neighborhood is being targeted for its golf carts.

A North Naples homeowner caught a suspect on surveillance video stealing his cart right from his driveway.

It happened in the Willoughby Acres neighborhood.

It was caught on a surveillance video. It happened at home on Johnnycake Drive on Tuesday night.

“Woke up in the morning, my dad was looking for a couple of tools he left in the golf cart and it was just gone,” said Michael Lieberth.

Their 2013 E-Z-Go Golf ard model was gone.

“As it got to our front house here, it backed up behind this tree here and a person got out, was looking, and then they drove off and then around 12:30 at night, they came back and I guess someone got in the golf cart and drove off down the road,” Lieberth said.

The golf cart is red with a white roof and white seats with a Boston Celtics sticker on the back of the roof.

Although the family said the neighborhood is no stranger to crime, they never expected to be victims.

“I mean it sucks, we kind of use it all the time to get around the neighborhood,” Lieberth said.

Golf carts are becoming popular, used for multiple purposes besides the course. They’re also expensive, some can cost over $10,000.
