Deputies are investigating an overnight shooting on 5th Avenue in Lee County’s Pine Manor neighborhood Thursday morning.

When WINK News arrived at the scene around 4 a.m., the deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office blocked off several homes in the neighborhood with crime scene tape., with two LCSO patrol cars blocking each side of the street. Deputies were seen collecting several items, including some shoes and a pair of car keys, taken away in a brown paper bag as evidence.

LCSO has the scene listed as a shooting on its incident page online. A neighbor approached WINK to say this situation has her and her boyfriend on edge.

“Honestly, I dont know what time, maybe around 1 to 2ish in the morning, just pop-pop-pop-pop, six to eight gunshots,” said Samantha Wimberley. “My boyfriend and I definitely looked over and were like, ‘Those were shots.'”

The scene has been cleared. WINK is still working to find out who was shot, how severe the injuries are and if there have been any arrests.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
