Coast Guard suspends search for missing Naples doctor

The United States Coast Guard suspended the search for missing Naples doctor, Chaundre Cross on Sunday night.

The search for Cross started on Wednesday after he failed to return home. His boat was later found in the Gulf of Mexico between Naples and Sanibel but Cross was not on board.

On Saturday, the Coast Guard brought Cross’ boat back to shore.

Coast Guard crews covered an area of approximately 13,100 square miles over the course of 100 hours.

Capt. Michael Kahle, Commander of Sector St. Petersburg said, “Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the family and friends of Dr. Cross during this difficult time.”

Cross has not been found.
