Bokeelia boat fire under investigation

Crews are investigating a fire that broke out on a boat in Bokeelia late Wednesday night.

According to the Matlacha Pine Island Fire Control District, the fire happened just before midnight. When firefighters arrived, the boat was fully engulfed in flames on a lift. No one was on the boat and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but the state fire marshal was called to investigate. The owner was notified and did come out to the scene.
