Lee County Sheriff’s Office found a missing and endangered child with the help of a bloodhound named Mercy on August 13.

According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, deputies were called out to a home on Chancellor Street for reports of a missing 9-year-old boy with medical issues.

LCSO agriculture unit and aviation unit also responded to assist in the search.

K9 Mercy was able to track the child’s scent through the neighborhood and located the young boy, safe.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno said this was great work by all of the agency members involved.

“It’s a part of my mission with the ReUnite program; we will stop at nothing to make sure every missing person is found and brought home safely,” Marceno said.
