The City of Marco Island is celebrating 25 years since the residents voted to incorporate on August 27, 1997.

The city is holding a series of events throughout the week to celebrate the occasion, beginning with a scavenger hunt and beach day on Monday. Monday’s events will start with a beach clean-up hosted by the Marco Island Civic Association at 8 a.m. Later in the day, there will also be a scavenger hunt for kids that runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

On Tuesday, the city will be celebrating with the theme of athletics through events like swim and fitness classes and a 25-minute walk to celebrate 25 years of cityhood. Other themes throughout the week include art on Wednesday, history and employee appreciation on Thursday, and government on Friday.

Friday will also end with a free concert from The Rockefellers at the Marco Lutheran Church.

The week of celebrations will finish on Saturday, the official 25th anniversary of the City of Marco Island. You can find a complete list of events online or in the flyer below.
