The Florida House of Representatives seat for District 77 in Lee County has a Republican nominee.

Instead, Republican Tiffany Esposito will be the Republican nominee after receiving 71% of the vote over challenger Ford O’Connell.

Because of redistricting, a new district was created in eastern Lee County. The district had no incumbent creating an open seat, which Esposito and O’Connell ran for.

Mike Giallombardo, who represented District 77 before redistricting, did not receive an opponent and was elected to his new district without opposition.

Esposito is the head of SWFL Inc., which describes itself as “the region’s only Five-Star Accredited Chamber of Commerce serving businesses in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte Counties.”

Esposito will face off against the Democratic nominee Eric Englehart.

“I was born and raised here. I’m so deeply passionate about our community. I still have to get through the genera,l and we had a very grassroots campaign, and we will continue that momentum through the general of knocking on doors and meeting voters and bringing our message to the community,” said Esposito.
