A man was arrested after throwing a blood sugar machine at a nurse in Naples.

Mark Lovell, 53, was arrested on charges of assault with intent to commit violence, according to a Collier County report.

On Saturday morning, a deputy responded to The Willoughs at Naples about a patient who damaged property, threw items, and threatened the staff.

The victim said that she was walking down a hallway to assist another staff member when she passed Lovell. Lovell picked up a blood sugar testing machine and threw it. The victim said she feared the machine was going to hit her, according to a Collier County report.

The victim wished to press charges on Lovell.

Another staff member said she witnessed Lovell throw the testing machine at the victim and then kicked a door in the facility. The witness also said Lovell was being violent most of the day and broke a table, according to a Collier County report.

Lovell was placed under arrest and taken to the Naples Jail Center.
