Three teenagers from Lehigh Acres have been arrested for what the Lee County Sheriff’s Office is calling a violent burglary.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested.

On October 10, deputies say they responded to a home in the area of Alabama Road and Palm Boulevard in Lehigh Acres for a burglary in progress.

When they arrived, deputies say they learned the victim of a different crime was shot and had been chased into the home by one of the suspects. The sheriff’s office says two other people in the home were battered by the suspect while chasing after the first victim who had been shot.

Deputies say they made contact with the three teens at their home and say the teenage suspects tried to get physical with deputies before being arrested.

The sheriff’s office says the victims were able to positively identify the teens as being the ones involved in the shooting and burglary.

Detectives searched the teen’s home and found a 12 gauge shotgun, a loaded AK-47, five semi-automatic handguns, 53.4 grams of meth, 78.7 grams of cocaine, $27,550 in cash, and several other items, including drug paraphernalia consistent with selling drugs.

One of the 16-year-olds is facing charges of burglary with battery, and battery. The other is facing aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The 17-year-old is facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and tampering with or harassing a witness, victim, or informant.
