Two people were arrested after a Port Charlotte High School teacher caught them trespassing at the school.

Denaidrick K. Cook, 18, and a 17-year-old who was not named due to his age, face charges of trespassing on school grounds and were transported to the Charlotte County Jail.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the two individuals walked across the baseball field and approached the school gym. They were let inside by an unknown student, deputies said.

The teacher saw them and noticed they were not wearing student identification badges. When they were asked what they were doing there, they said they were teacher aides, but then fled.

The two were observed getting into a silver Toyota sedan which sped by the school.

The vehicle was pulled over and advised they were at the school to see a friend.

Both suspects, from Cape Coral, were searched but no contraband or weapons were found.
