Crash kills a man crossing the street in Collier County

A man died after a car crashed into him Friday night in Collier County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford Escape was going north on US-41 nearing Dixie Road shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, a man was crossing the northbound lanes on US-41.

The Ford Escape crashed into the man while crossing the street.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
