Six months since Hurricane Ian hit the shores of Southwest Florida, the community is coming together to share in the feeling of unity and prayer.

A memorial in Centennial Park after Ian gave people a place to mourn their loved ones and losses. Six months later, religious leaders in the community organized the “together in prayer,” event.

Dr. Carlos Trabel, the senior pastor for the Pentecostal Church of God helped create the event.

“What we will get out of this is not to forget that we are a community and that we have a shoulder for someone to lean on an ear to be heard a voice to be spoken. And just take care of one another,” Dr. Trabal said.
