St. Mark’s Square in Venice Students from the Community School of Naples had the opportunity to learn about Italian history and sportsmanship over spring break when its varsity baseball team traveled to Italy to play three teams in Venice, Parma and Milan. They visited the American Military Cemetery and toured some famous sights, including the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The boys also got the chance to visit parmesan cheese and prosciutto factories. Parma prosciutto factory The trip was possible because of the efforts of CSN baseball coaches and the Italian American Baseball Foundation. Assistant Baseball Coach Mark Cardillo played professional baseball in Italy for several years.
