The National Weather Service NWS issued a test tsunami alert for a tsunami in Charlotte County, but it was inaccurately read as a real alert by some apps.

According to the NWS, some third-party apps posted the tsunami alert as an actual warning, Tuesday afternoon. They are investigating what apps sent the alert as real.

NWS told WINK News that there is no tsunami warning at this time.
