There is a push for changes at a local animal shelter accused of not doing enough to help strays. The Lee County Domestic Animal Services is responding to a letter listing concerns and allegations at the shelter. RELATED: Allegations against Lee County animal shelter Many of those allegations focus on concerns from a local animal activist group known as Voices for Lee County Florida Animals. Lee County won’t talk on camera, but a spokesperson told us that the Lee County domestic animal services director and staff met with the group and responded to their letter. However, members of Voices for Lee County Florida Animals said they feel the county is brushing off their concerns, not making changes, and believe it cost a group of 7 kittens their lives.
