Dough Bar’s new owner hosts grand opening in Punta Gorda

As Charles “Charlie” Pecoraro cut the ribbon at a Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce ceremony June 12, he looked both happy and contented.

The new owner of The Dough Bar, 520 King St. in downtown Punta Gorda, finally found what he was looking for in retirement—a restaurant where he could serve the Italian food and pizza he enjoyed in New York.

After he sold his New York pizza and Italian restaurants in 2018, Pecoraro thought he was going to retire, and he moved to Southwest Florida in 2022. “I came here to relax,” he said.
