Reward increased to $5K for info on Alva fatal hit-and-run driver

The reward to find the driver behind the fatal hit-and-run of a bicyclist in Alva has increased to $5,000 from $3,000.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still searching for the driver responsible for the death of 64-year-old Debra Purcaro.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Purcaro was struck and killed while bicycling on March 14, 2021, at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Purcaro was hit on North River Road near Sands Drive in Alva. The driver who struck her fled the scene after the crash.

Purcaro was part of the Caloosa Riders Bicycle Club.
