Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell wins re-election

In a blowout, Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell will be keeping his seat.

Prummell ended up with 80.22% of votes. He beat out Ryan Barber, who had 19.78%

WINK News spoke with him about what the future holds for Charlotte County.

“We’re going to continue doing what we’re doing. We got a lot of stuff that we still want to accomplish. We got some new facilities that are coming online and some new technologies that hopefully are going to make us do our jobs better, be more efficient and improve public safety here in Charlotte County,” he said.

Prummell also said his agency is planning to do more with mental health.
