Oasis Schools in Cape Coral are closed Monday through Thursday. Canterbury School in Fort Myers will be closed Monday through Wednesday. Florida Gulf Coast University will move to remote operations Monday, and all classes and events will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Residential students have been ordered to evacuate by 2 p.m. on Tuesday. FSW will transition to remote operations on Monday. The college will be closed and all classes will be canceled on Tuesday and Wednesday. Decisions for the remainder of the week will be made as the situation develops. Keiser University Naples and Fort Myers campuses will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024. Glades County The Glades County School District will close schools on Tuesday and Wednesday. They will proceed with school on Monday. “This decision also allows families the necessary time to prepare for the storm or evacuate if needed. Additionally, we want to inform you that West Glades School will be opening as a shelter on Tuesday for those who require assistance,” the school said in a statement released Sunday. Collier County Collier County Public Schools will be closed Monday through Thursday. Charlotte County All Charlotte County Public Schools will be closed starting Monday and will remain closed through at least Thursday to prioritize the safety of our students and staff. They will provide updates as soon as possible after the storm to assess whether schools can safely reopen on Friday. DeSoto County The DeSoto School District has decided to close school from Monday through Thursday. Hendry County Hendry County has announced that it will close schools for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The District will message periodically throughout the week with further determinations.
