A school bus was involved in a three-vehicle crash in Lehigh Acres, sending the bus into a ditch.

The crash happened early Monday morning on State Road 82 and Sunshine Boulevard.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, there were three vehicles involved in the crash.

The school bus reportedly cut in front of a Jeep, resulting in the Jeep driver not being able to stop in time.

“I used an emergency car window breaker to open the window. I recommend those because it actually helps. I had it just in case anything happened; I kept it on my keychain. I broke out through the side window to let the smoke out, and then I used my knife to cut the roof of my car so I could get out,” said Brian Blanco, driver of the Jeep.

The other vehicle involved allegedly saw the school bus coming toward them and drove into the ditch to avoid being hit

The front of the school bus broke in the ditch, and crews had to reattach it before being able to tow it away.

The Lee County School District said there were no kids aboard the bus.

No injuries were reported.
