Neighbors have reported hearing multiple gunshots in the early hours of the morning in Cape Coral.

WINK News spoke with neighbors who said they heard multiple rounds of gunshots go off around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, near the area of Southwest 14th Place.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department, an altercation occurred between unspecified people.

Multiple gunshots were fired; however, no injuries were reported.

Nearby homes in the area did have some damage from stray bullets.

Cape Coral forensic units, a K9 unit, and unmarked police cars were blocking off the home with crime scene tape.

John Johnson, who lives nearby, told WINK a bullet struck his neighbor’s car.

“Our neighbor, we just went over there. He’s got a bullet hole in his truck,” Johnson said.

There appeared to be a bullet hole in a fence and another on the garage door.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that they assisted with their aviation unit.

The scene remains under investigation.
